Are you feeling worried about your GCSE Spanish speaking exam? You're not alone! In fact, I was in the same position when I was preparing for my own exams. But don't worry, I'm here to help. In this blog post, I'm going to share some simple tips on how to get top marks in the GCSE Spanish speaking exam. So, if that's something that interests you, then keep reading!
1. Ace the photo card…Always try to answer your questions with 2-3 pieces of information, an opinion and justification. When preparing for the photocard, use your time wisely to do this in detail with the 3 questions you can see. But don’t forget! There are 2 more surprise questions, so remember to prepare for those too.
2. Know your question words. It makes it far easier for you to figure out what any spontaneous questions mean.
3. You can say too much! During the Role-play answer the question AND STOP! Why? Because if you have answered the question correctly, then go on to make a mistake you can lose marks.
4. Consistently use more than one tense. When answering questions during the General Conversation try to use 2 or even 3 tenses, even if you are not directly asked. This will give you marks when it comes to narrating events in Spanish.
5. Don’t forget R.E.C. Especially in the General conversation, it is important to expand on your answers. Where you can try to give your opinion, then a reason, example and a comparison e.g. Creo que soy una persona amable y simpática porque siempre ayudo a mis amigos. Por ejemplo, ayer ayudé a mi mejor amigo con los deberes de inglés. Sin embargo, mi madre diría que soy perezosa porque no le ayuda cada día en casa…
